Yachting Australia Accredited Courses

The Training Centre conducts a variety of YA Courses. Instructors are all fully trained and YA accredited - the courses being recognized nationally and internationally, they provide vocational pathways for those students who wish to progress in a career. YA Certificates of Competency are issued only to those who successfully complete the course.

Powerboat Handling Course

This Yachting Australia course is a basic requirement for Sailing Instructors and Race Officers. It is accepted by Marine Safety Victoria (MSV) as a qualification for the Victorian Boat Operators License and is highly recommended for anyone wishing to safely operate a powerboat. The course covers basic powerboat handling and maintenance, the Government Boating Regulations, Right-of-way Rules, Buoyage Systems and elementary chart work.

Dates:  Sundays: 12, 19, 26 September 2010.

Cost: $350.  ($250 McCrae YC members)

 

Safety (Rescue) Boat Handling Course

This course is run over 2 days and one night session. The pre-requisite is a Powerboat Handling Certificate. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to competently handle a safety boat.

Dates: Sunday 28 November, Sunday 5 December, Saturday Night 11 December 2010

Cost: $350.  ($250 McCrae YC members)

 

First Aid-CPR Refresher Course - January 2011

The latest techniques will be demonstrated to up-date our Training Instructors and any others in the club who may wish to keep their skills current.
