McCrae Yacht Club was established over 50 years ago and to ensure the club is around for at least 50 more Project Members is reviewing the club rules.
Why are we doing this?
The world has changed immeasurably over the last 10 years, never mind over the last 50 years since the club was established. The first iPod was released in 2001, the first iPhone in June 2007, the first hydrofoiling Moth won a Worlds in 2001 and every Worlds since 2004, Facebook launched in 2004 and who would have thought 10 years ago that the 2013 Americas Cup would be raced in catamarans!
Reviewing and developing the club rules will enable the club to keep up with the pace of change within today's society and be flexible enough the meet the challenges of 2020 and beyond, and ensure the club will grow and prosper.
The proposed changes to the membership categories and club rules will help the club meet the challenges of the future and better attract and retain members.
